Nixon’s Mill

Nixon’s Mill was located on Cable Creek between the Back Creek Community and Gray’s Cross Roads in west-central Randolph Co., North Carolina.  It was both a gristmill and commissary to local inhabitants from 1780 until the wooden structure was completely destroyed by fire in 1816.  The dam, built of local stone, is about 15 feet high and still stands today.
