“Cannonball’s Cycle Shop” Worth Hockett opened the first Harley-Davidson motorcycle dealership in this 16 by 20 foot building on Hammer Avenue in Asheboro, North Carolina in 1946. He was also responsible for the construction of a motorcycle racetrack on Gold Hill Road east of Asheboro, North Carolina. Hockett operated the cycle shop until 1958.
